Mission

The primary mission of the Code Enforcement Officer is to ensure the safety and welfare of the Village and its citizens by enforcing the Village codes and ordinances in residential and commercial districts. This objective includes addressing violations and issues such as:

  

• Dumping (92.025)
• Tall Grass & Weeds (92.096, 92.100)
• Property Maintenance (92.026, 92.065, 92.084, 150.02)
• Abandoned/Inoperable Vehicles (93.05)
• Refuse Container Enclosures (92.027)
• Illegal Signs (152.236)
• Parking of Recreational Vehicles & Vehicles (72.12, 152.216)
• Open Burning (91.01)

 

Violations

When addressing violations, due process is provided to all code violators. Code Enforcement issues written warning notices. If there is a failure to comply, citations are issued. Code Enforcement holds a high level of respect and fairness to our citizens, business owners, and visitors as we enforce the codes and ordinances of the Village of Rockton.
