Mayor John Peterson

After serving as Village trustee since 2009, John Peterson was sworn is as mayor on May 4, 2021. John and his wife, Sheryl, raised two adult daughters, Dana and Lydia, in Rockton and are now Realtors with RE/MAX. John is a longtime Rockton Lions Club member, and it's through his volunteer service with the club that he found a passion for booking live music acts. John was instrumental in making the Rockton River Market the place to be on Wednesday nights by melding "Music in the Park" with the market. As a Realtor, John is passionate about enhancing the quality of life for Rockton residents, visitors, and businesses. He strongly believes that downtown Rockton is a tourist destination on the rise, and he is committed to the Village being a strong partner with its downtown businesses.
